As you may know about us, we are very passionate about sharing Jesus with those around us, but also we are just as passionate about helping to train others to do the same. We have bot found such freedom in feeling free to share with those around us, and it is exciting to see others begin to grow in their ability to so the same.
This past week Sam was invited to speak about CoJourners, Cru's evangelism paradigm that Sam has presented in a variety of different contexts, at a church in Jamaica, Queens. Besides being a high learning curve in the New York transportation system, one of the first things Sam noticed about the neighborhood after chatting with a local on the bus was how different it felt from Manhattan. Sam knew he had to think on his feet, and make sure what he shared was going to make the most sense for people living in Jamaica. But more than that, he began to pray that the Holy Spirit would be moving ahead of him.
It was so exciting for Sam to see God moving in this group of young people. In the room where high school teachers, a pair of graduate students at St. Johns, and even someone working in finance on Wall Street. This diverse group of men and women felt invigorated to be people where "Jesus conversations" (what we like to call significant conversations about Jesus) happen frequently. Imagine what God will do with this group of people as they continue to press into their relationship with Him and seek to reach out to those around them!
